Washington, DC -- Congressman David Davis visited today members of the U.S. Military at Walter Reed Army Medical Center to deliver Christmas cards collected from the First District.
“There has been overwhelming response to the call for Christmas cards for our troops,” Congressman David Davis said. “In just over a week we collected thousands of cards.”
Congressman Davis traveled to Walter Reed to hand-deliver a portion of the cards.
“Today, I spent time with true American heroes in the war on terror,” Congressman Davis said. “Each one has their unique story, but they are all unified by their love of country and commitment to our protection. I wanted to take time to spend with our wounded warriors and let them know that the First District appreciates them and their sacrifice.”
Due to the large number of cards collected, other locations for distribution have been chosen.
“The holidays are an exceptionally difficult time for our service men and women,” Congressman Davis said. “Because we were given so many cards, we decided to share them with active duty personnel in Iraq and the Veterans at Mountain Home VA Center in Johnson City.”
