Washington, DC -- Congressman David Davis announced today a U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Health Center Cluster grant to Cherokee Health Systems for $850,000.
“I am pleased to announce this grant to Cherokee Health Systems,” Congressman David Davis said. “This system will use this discretionary grant to benefit the First District’s healthcare needs.”
The goal of the Health Centers Initiative, which began in FY 2002, is to increase health care access to 1,200 of the Nation’s underserved communities through new and/or significantly expanded health center sites over five years. The Expanded Medical Capacity grant opportunity assists in achieving the goal, comprehensive primary and preventive health care services in areas of high need.
