Washington, DC -- Congressman David Davis today announced that East Tennessee State University has been awarded an Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) of $208,927 for the study of pharmacology, physiology, and biological chemistry. The grant is administered through the Department of Health and Human Services.
“The Department of Health and Human Services is directly investing in the well-being of Tennessee’s First District by making this grant available,” said Davis.
“This grant will help fund research that will train undergraduate and graduate students at East Tennessee State University in a highly relevant medical field. The results of this study will provide further insights on cancer biology and defects that can lead to cancer.
“Because of my healthcare background and experience, I know the importance and benefits that are realized by medical research.” Davis added.
