Washington, DC -- Congressman David Davis today announced that East Tennessee State University has been awarded $204,798 for a biological research project on deafness and speech related disorders. The grant is administered through the Department of Health and Human Services’ National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. Congressman Davis released the following statement:
“This grant will help ETSU provide its students and faculty an excellent opportunity to study health sciences relating to speech disorders,” said Davis. “Research plays a large role in the health profession and this grant will certainly help ETSU conduct the best research possible,” Davis added.
“I am excited to see that the Department of Health and Human Services is investing in East Tennessee,” Davis added.
The title of ETSU’s research project is “Effects of Recast Rate and Distribution on Irregular Past Tense Acquisition.”
