Washington, DC -- Congressman David Davis announced today the disaster designation for all twelve counties that comprise the First District, due to losses caused by record low temperatures and a deep freeze that occurred from April 4, 2007, through April 11, 2007.
“This designation allows those who are directly affected to apply and receive low-interest emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency,” Congressman Davis said. “Those affected may contact their local FSA office.”
The Department of Agriculture (USDA) has reviewed the Damage Assessment Reports for all 95 Tennessee counties, along with additional information submitted by the State Executive Director, Farm Service Agency (FSA). Based on this review, USDA has determined that there were sufficient production losses in all 95 counties to warrant a Secretarial natural disaster designation.
