| Washington, DC -- Congressman David Davis has cosponsored H.R. 1940, the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007.
“This legislation would define what group of individuals born in the United States are considered natural born,” Congressman David Davis. “It would limit natural born citizenship to children born where at least one parent is a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted unto the United States, or an alien performing active service in the United States armed forces.”
“Under this bill, children born to two illegal aliens would no longer be considered natural born citizens,” Congressman David Davis.
“As I work all over the First District, I have found that illegal immigration is at the forefront of people’s concerns,” Congressman Davis said. “This legislation is a step toward fixing the illegal immigration issue.”
