| Washington, DC -- Congressman Davis joined in bi-partisan support of H.R. 1873, “The Small Business Fairness in Contracting Act” which passed the U.S. House. This legislation will expand the definition of contract bundling, increase small business opportunities at both the prime contract and subcontract levels, and target fraudulent practices by agencies and businesses.
The Small Business Fairness in Contracting Act will increase prime contracting opportunities for small firms.
“I am very concerned that small businesses get the opportunity to engage in commerce with the Federal Government,” Congressman David Davis said. “Small business is literally the backbone of our economy. When awarding a contract, the Federal Government should award the contract based on merit, not on whether the company is bigger than the rest. H.R. 1873 takes steps to allow more business to be done by small businesses with the Federal Government.”
