Issues-Veterans

Men and women who have served our country to protect the freedoms we enjoy each day deserve the very best. For many years, our policies toward Veterans have been unfair and we have not given the best that we have to offer. On top of voting for the largest increase in veterans benefit our country has ever seen. I have continually supported our veterans in any way possible which is why I have co-sponsored the following bills:

• H.Res.786: This resolution amends the rules of the House of Representatives requiring appropriations for the Veterans Administration and Military Quality of Life programs receive a standalone vote. Prohibits tying VA funding to other appropriations bills.
  
• H.R. 303. This legislation removes the concurrent receipt provisions where a veteran’s retirement is offset by disability payments.
  
• H.R. 2852. This legislation provides a federal charter to the Korean War Veterans Association bringing it in line with other veteran service organizations.
