After traveling to Iraq, Walter Reed, and Mountain Home to visit and speak with our men and women in uniform about their needs in Iraq and when they get home, some of the things I came away with were a need for better healthcare, increased pay, and increased safety initiatives. Our Armed Forces deserve our appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice to preserve the safety of every Tennessean and American alike. Through the appropriations process, I have supported all bills that would increase pay, benefits, and equipment for men and women in uniform. And to continue my commitment to limited government and decreased spending while supporting out Troops, I have supported the following bill:

• H.J. Res. 67 – Would supporting a base Defense Budget that at the very minimum matches 4 percent of gross domestic produc
