Issues-Limited Government
The United States government is bloated. There are countless levels of bureaucracy and endless spending. I have worked hard to curtail spending and the size of our government. Here are just a few of the bills I have co-sponsored that try to reduce the size and spending of our government:
- H.J. Res. 1 – amending the Constitution of the United States to requiring a balanced budget.
- H.R. 1359 – The Enumerated Powers Act requires each Act of Congress to contain a concise and definite statement of the constitutional authority relied upon for the enactment of each portion of that Act. Declares that failure to comply with this requirement shall give rise to a point of order in either chamber of Congress.
- H.R. 3738 – The Earmark Reform Act puts a cap on allocated funds for Congressional earmarks in Appropriations bills of $14.5 billion for the first year, and then caps allocated funds for earmarks in subsequent years to no more than 1% of discretionary spending.
